Dover Harbour

Granville Dock c.1865. The Ship Hotel on Custom House Quay can be seen in the centre of the picture.  The Grand Shaft Barracks can be clearly seen on the Western Heights. A cross-channel ferry at the Admiralty Pier early 1900s.  This picture dates from before 1909 when work to reclaim the land for building the Marine Station started. View from the Admiralty Pier c1905.  The iron-work and stone sections of the Prince of Wales Pier can be clearly seen behind the sailing boat. The Tidal Harbour c.1904.  The boats are tied up against Crosswall which separates the Tidal Harbour from the Granville Dock.
